A Little Bit About Me
My name is Ajia Saunders and I started community college when I was fifteen years old studying Liberal Arts and Humanities. I then completed my bachelor's degree in English in 2023 and am now pursuing my Master's degree in English Creative Writing. My degrees in English have not only improved my writing but also intrigued me to invest in the business aspect such as publishing. What inspired me to pursue an internship with Alpha Book Publishers is the amazing knowledge and opportunity given by the program.
I am eager to learn about publishing my book, the opportunity to have a hardcover of my book, and overall have an experience that can take me to other jobs within the publishing industry. I expect to better understand the business and enhance my knowledge of how to publish a book. I am interested in the young adult genre and feel I can contribute my personal work and experience in age to this area of the industry.
My long-term career goals in the industry are to move up the chain and become an editorial assistant for a Big Five publishing company as well as publish my books along the way. I envision myself making a significant impact on the publishing industry by not only drawing in more of an audience with my books but also with my great work ethic, I would be valuable to any team. My prior writing experience contains two published short stories and an unpublished first draft of a novel that I am currently editing. On top of that, I have written many short stories and now am working on my second novel.
