A Little Bit About Me


I was inspired to pursue this internship because it covers the step-by-step process of editing, offering a unique program that provides valuable insight into the editing and publishing industry. The internship addresses a broad spectrum of topics, such as formatting, editing, and illustration, which typically require three different courses.


My interest spans all aspects of editing and publishing, and I am eager to discover new areas within the field that I might enjoy.


I believe that even if I eventually focus on a specific area of editing and publishing, it is crucial to have a comprehensive understanding of the entire process and all its components. Additionally, I am particularly drawn to the opportunity for interns to publish their own books. Experiencing this part of the process will allow me to gain valuable insights from an author’s perspective.


Moreover, this internship offers a unique opportunity to work directly with experienced professionals who provide advice and guidance, enhancing my learning experience.

I expect that by the end of this internship, I will have a much deeper understanding of all facets of editing and publishing and a clearer sense of the specific area I want to focus on in my career.

During my years of study, I juggled roles as a waitress, tutor, and nanny, honing my organizational skills and time management abilities. In addition to my practical roles, I cultivated my artistic side through high school art classes and piano playing. My BA Visual Studies and English degree qualification showcases my deep-seated passion for literature and creativity as well as my avid consumption of literature, films, and series. However, I often find myself disappointed by narratives lacking depth or coherence due to underdeveloped ideas or excessive complexity.


My aspiration is to contribute to the refinement of stories, collaborating to craft engaging narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. Through my extensive experience working with children ranging from two to twelve years old, I’ve discovered that while their interests vary, they often gravitate towards specific themes and narratives. Engaging with them through storytelling, reading, and watching stories has given me valuable insight into their preferences and desires.
