A Little Bit About Me
Hi, my name is Devon! I love reading and all genres of books. I recently graduated and I am looking to pursue a career relating to publishing.
I graduated last May from California State University Long Beach with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. I believe management plays a crucial role in publishing and I specifically am interested in being a managerial editor. I have always loved reading and I grew up editing my sisters and friends' English essays for them. With my degree now I want to get a job at a publishing company and learn as much as I can.
I want to learn as much about publishing as possible. I am not very familiar with the industry but I love books and having a small part in getting them produced would be an amazing experience and very exciting.
I am very interested in cookbooks right now but I read all genres of books so I would love to learn more about the different process for different genres of books. For example the difference in publishing a children's book or an art book or a science based book.
I want to help others get their books out into the world. I want to play a supporting role in helping authors get their world to the public. I hope to learn about all aspects of this field and become a reliable source for authors.
I do not have any prior writing or publishing experiences. I have previously and currently volunteer at my local library. However, I am very new to this field. I am passionate about books though and I read a lot.
I have not received any achievements related to publishing or writing, but I endeavor to do so.
