A Little Bit About Me
Hello! I'm Jamie, a freshman at American University in Washington, DC, studying literature and secondary education, a choice driven by my love for books and my passion for teaching them.
My love of writing led me to Alpha Publishing. This internship allows me to dip my feet into the publishing world and learn and apply my knowledge.
I am deeply passionate about romance novels, especially those that blend elements of mystery. I aim to contribute to the publishing industry by writing great books. I have always said that I am writing someone else's favorite book. I see myself as a writer and someone who works in publishing.
In 2022, I completed a gap-year writing program with the School of The New York Times. This program allowed me to experience different types of writing. The book section we did stands out to me because the instructor works for a cookbook publishing firm. This experience confirmed the fact that I want to go into publishing.
Looking ahead, I want to establish myself as a published author and a professional in the publishing industry. I see my role in the industry as one that not only introduces new and exciting books to readers but also influences the publishing world by advocating for innovative and inclusive literature.
