A Little Bit About Me
When I started buying my own books at the age of ten, I began my conscious journey with the publishing world. As I grew older, I turned my love of books into my first job at Barnes & Noble, then one of my two majors at college, English Literature. During my time pursuing that major, I maintained a 4.0 GPA and received two bachelor’s degrees in 2020. Due to some bumps in the road, including Covid, I had to put off pursuing my dream for the more practical option, but I am now ready to work hard and make that dream a reality.
Although the majority of my experience is not in the publishing field, I believe that I have the skills and interests to be a strong member of the team. I have a background of maintaining knowledge of trends in the publishing industry due to my time at Barnes & Noble, my favorite position to this day. Along with that, I developed excellent communication skills during my time as a Recruiter and Trainer, when I had to simultaneously juggle clients, candidates, and trainees. I am a hard worker who knows how to multitask, shown by successfully working two jobs while pursuing two degrees in college.
Most importantly, I am passionate about the publishing field. I have loved books for as long as I can remember, from Dr. Seuss when I was a kid, to Rebecca Yarros now and everything in between. I even started Beta and ARC reading for free so I can build experience while doing something I enjoy. Doing so has increased my motivation to pursue my career goals of joining the publishing industry and helping bring more wonderful stories into the world.
