A Little Bit About Me

I’m Kyle Lin, I was born in Philadelphia but raised in China for five years before moving back to the city of brotherly love. As a recent graduate of Central High School I plan on pursuing a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in creative writing at the University of Chicago! Throughout high school I’ve written for the school newspaper, literary magazine, and wrote my own campaigns for DND with my work being published several times.

As a current intern for Alpha Book Publisher I hope to get my feet wet in the publishing field by developing my writing skills, learning to advertise my work, and learning to navigate the publishing industry. However, my publishing experiences lie largely with journalistic works with the Centralizer (my school newspaper) and the Princeton Summer Journalism Program. Thus my current goal is to publish a work of literature online with aspirations to become both a writer and an editor in the industry.

Usually I write “interactive” narratives that are designed to change on the spot and are incredibly malleable for my DND campaigns. Otherwise I tend to write short stories and poems for my personal enjoyment as well as the school publications. Hence, I’m also hoping to explore the different genres I can write in, drawing inspiration from social media, nature, society, and the world around me as a whole!
