Czechia, also known as the Czech Republic, is a country located in Central Europe. It is bordered by Germany to the west, Poland to the north, Slovakia to the east, and Austria to the south. The country has a population of around 10.7 million people and the capital and largest city is Prague. The official language is Czech and the currency is the Czech koruna.
Czechia has a rich cultural heritage and history, shaped by centuries of influence from various empires and cultures, including the Celts, Romans, Slavs, and Austro-Hungarian Empire. The country gained independence from Austria-Hungary in 1918 and it was a republic until 1948 when it became a communist country. In 1989, the Velvet Revolution led to the fall of communism and the establishment of a multiparty democracy.
