MSI Press, founded in 2003 by Dr. Betty Lou Leaver and her late husband Carl Leaver, began as a small, author-friendly publishing house catering to the Coalition of Distinguished Language Centers. Initially, their focus was on foreign language education. The Leavers’ time living in Amman, Jordan, from 2004 to 2006 influenced the early direction of MSI Press, guiding it towards works rooted in Middle Eastern culture and language. In 2012, the company incorporated as a Limited Liability Corporation, broadening its catalog to encompass a wide array of nonfiction genres.
