A Little Bit About Me
My name is Nicolle Stampfl, and I am currently working on my English Bachelor's Degree and eventually my Master's in Creative Writing. I have always been fascinated with the process of writing literature, not just the story itself. My dream would be a profession in writing and through this internship, I wish to learn how books are published, and what it takes to edit a book.
I have a passion for young adult fantasy and an interest in children’s chapter books. I love reading and writing about high-stakes situations and characters that possess magic or specialized skills. With children’s chapter books, I aspire to get in touch with my inner child to help fuel children’s imaginations through easily digestible and wholesome, yet compelling stories. I hope to contribute work in both areas.
While many stories of mine are in the works, I have completed a short story about a young boy in the Philippines during World War II. Although the topics presented in the story are not what I typically write, the process provided both an insightful and eye-opening experience, not only in the emotional aspects of storytelling but the amount of research that goes into projects. None of my writings have been published, but as I am still early in my education, I hope to start with this internship and grow my career from here.
