10 months ago As soon as you walk in, you feel transported to another world. All your worries are left at the door and time stand stills to wander the beautiful and thoughtful selection of books. This bookstore is magic! Wild Lark Books even has a stunning back room to read and enjoy a cup of tea or even host an event. If you are not sure what to read, ask the bookstore owner. She is kind, considerate, charming, and has excellent taste in books. I love Small Favors by Erin A. Craig that she recommended. If you are looking for a book that isn’t there, she will order it for you and have it shipped to the store for pick up or have it shipped to your home. And, the most incredible thing of all, it’s not only a bookstore but a publishing company as well! You can find their published books in the store. Sometimes the books are even signed! Authors, I recommend checking out their publishing packages. Wild Lark Books is going to change the publishing world.
10 months ago This is a portal to a different world, hidden in the heart of Lubbock. This bookstore is incredible. When you walk in, you’re transported to an old Scottish castle library. It’s dark, warm, cozy but so light and not overwhelming. This bookstore encourages you to find books (or let books find you). I left with 4 books and a fire inside that makes me want to curl up and read like I haven’t done since I was a child. The owner is so kind and helpful and is willing to order any book you need to the store or to your home. Her passion for her store and love of reading is evident. This is an absolute TREASURE. This is the only photo I got because I was too excited to remember my phone existed.
a month ago Pros: - hosts author readings and signings - comfortable reading area - children’s section - has popular titles in stock - Carries unique inventory as a publisher Cons: - expensive $$$ - limited inventory - slow restocking times - eerie and quiet atmosphere - terrible location At the end of the day I’m honestly disappointed more than anything. This book store has potential, but right now there’s nothing special to make you choose WLB over Barns & Noble
2 months ago Some of these reviews seem to be by people who have NEVER even set foot in the store! I’m reviewing on the store and not personal bias. I went in about a week ago and loved it! The employee behind the counter was super sweet and he knew were to find the things I needed. The store itself is BEAUTIFUL! Perfect little book store to support and shop local. I didn’t want to leave! The store is super CLEAN and the store has MANY books to reach all needs. Idk what seems to be going on VIA the other reviews but this is my opinion on the STORE that I SHOPPED at. Will be back and will recommend to others.
