A Little Bit About Me
I am currently a third-year at the University of Florida majoring in English and minoring in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences. I also did my second year abroad in England, where I primarily studied English but also took a few biology courses that I need to graduate. These three years in college have allowed me to get a better understanding of how much I like writing and how much I want to work on books before they are published.
The main thing that inspired me to pursue an internship with Alpha Book Publisher is the fact that they will publish my book by the end of the internship as one of my life goals has been becoming a published author. Another reason I wanted to pursue this internship is because I will get to learn about many different aspects of the publishing process. I have always said that I want to be an editor at a book publishing company when I graduate college, but this internship will allow me to see the wide range of options that are available for working in publishing.
As a writer, I love writing mystery and fantasy. However, as a reader, I love any genre as long as it is not horror or nonfiction. I want to contribute to the publishing industry in these areas by creating new ideas in these genres.
What are your long-term career goals in the publishing field? How do you envision yourself making a significant impact in the industry?
For the long-term, I would like to work as an editor at a book publishing company. I want to do this to help other authors make their works the best it can be.
Have you had any prior writing or publishing experiences? If so, how have they influenced your passion and aspirations?
I have been writing books and short stories since I was in middle school, and I used to publish some of these things on Wattpad. These years of writing have caused me to figure out how I like to write and what genres I particularly enjoy writing. It has also pushed me to want to work in publishing in some way so that I can work with things I love.
