A Little Bit About Me
My name is Sadie Edwards, and I am a passionate reader and writer. I have been pursuing a higher education of a bachelor’s degree in English, and being exposed to so many different genres of literature has further fueled my passion for books, reading, and writing.
Combined with perfecting my writing and editorial skills while working on my degree, I have become interested in pursuing a career in the book publishing industry. Because of my interest that developed for the publishing industry, I was inspired to pursue an internship with Alpha Book Publisher.
At this internship, my expectations are to better myself in my writing and editorial skills, and to gain more knowledge in the publishing process so that I can gain the experience to pursue a successful career in the publishing industry. One of my favorite genres and topics of literature is fiction—particularly fantasy and children’s fiction. With my deep passion for fantasy and fiction as well as experience working with children, I feel like I have valuable knowledge and insight that can contribute to the publishing industry in these areas.
My long-term career goal in the publishing industry is to work in the editorial field. I believe my strong editorial and grammatical skills and dedication to creating high quality work will make a big impact on the industry. Although I have never been published before, I have been writing stories for nearly all my life. In my educational journey, high grades and recognition of my skills from professors showcase my abilities for writing and editing. My life-long dedication and love for writing has fueled my passion to seek a career in the publishing industry.
