Sierra Williams - Intern

Devon Burton Intern at Alpha Book Publisher

A Little Bit About Me

My name is Sierra Williams and I recently graduated with a bachelor’s in history from Grand Canyon University. While I have always loved reading books, it was only during my university years that I truly gained a passion for researching, writing, and editing papers. In the pursuit of my degree, which was research and writing intensive, I came to truly enjoy researching and writing lengthy research papers that could effectively relay historical information and capture the

readers imagination. My goal was always to pique the interest of my readers with information and stories that could than spark the imagination.

While I find most genres interesting, my favorite genres are historical non-fiction and children’s

books. My favorite topics are ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman history, although I love all

periods of history. I want to be able to communicate my love for history and books to the wider world by working in the publishing field, both as a writer and an editor/proofreader.

I have written more than 10 research papers of over 4,000 words, proofread/edited over 20

research and creative essays written by others, transcribed audio files into written English, and

proofread/edited 1 children’s book. All my experiences in writing, proofreading/editing, and

transcribing have helped solidify my determination and aspiration for joining the publishing field as either a writer, publisher/editor, or both.nd only me. To put it more simply, I want to broadcast a voice that is uniquely my own.
